The evening was spent among friends by the campfires on the beach. There was also lots to do for children and families.

In 2001, fourteen geocaches were placed in conjunction with 20th Century Fox to support the movie Planet of the Apes. The 2014 MegAdvent was held in a Lost Place location in Berlin, Motorwerk, also known as Die Halle Weissensee. The factory was built in 1910 for Emil Ziehl, who developed and built the first electrical pole-changeable elevator (lift) engines there. After World War II, until the end of the GDR era, condensers were manufactured instead. Geocachers traveled from all over the globe to participate in the event's geocaching activities, to share geocaching tales and to celebrate all things geocaching.

Project Let's Zeppelin 2017 took place in Friedrichshafen, Germany, at the beautiful Lake of Constance. It is the birthplace of the Zeppelins invented by Graf von Zeppelin who died 100 years before. Inside and outside of the huge Zeppelin hangar geocachers enjoyed a famous program with many highlights under the motto Zeppelin.

Since 2003, S*W*A*G has held this annual event that has blossomed into the largest geocaching event in southwest Arizona. Yuma County is the fourth largest gold producer in Arizona and has a rich history of gold mining that dates back to the 1850's in the Gila, Castle Dome, and Kofa Mountains to name a few. The 2019 theme was Prospecting for Caches. Visitors enjoyed many new caches in the area and presentations at the Event.

A fun and friendly way to promote geocaching around the world. Thousands of geocachers at dozens of coordinated events spanning the globe, gathering at the same time. The WWFM idea was started in 2007 after 2 cachers attended a Mega-Event. It was meant to be a fun “opposite” of a Mega-Event: all the cool aspects of a geocaching event, crammed into 15 minutes of excitement. An added dimension is represented by the letters "WW" - World Wide - these events occur across the planet on the same day at (mostly) the same time! These caching events are intended to bring geocachers together in a creative way, as well as introduce others (newbies) to the hobby.

The Geocaching Multi Event 2011 is one of the largest geocaching events in Europe. This is a one-day event offered once a year in the month of April. Groundspeak’s second annual Geocaching Block Party, held on the first International Geocaching Day, took place on August 20th, 2011 in front of Groundspeak’s new HQ building in Fremont, Seattle, WA, USA. This year’s Block Party drew geocachers from all over the world. Activities included geocaching courses, pin the antenna on Signal, a dunk tank, “Fremont Challenges”, zucchini racing, Geocacher Bingo, Geocoin trading, and much more. This will be an annual event occurring on International Geocaching Day - the third Saturday of August each year.

The Fumble After Dark 2011 Mega Event is Sweden’s largest and oldest annual geocaching event - 2011 was its 9th consecutive year. This Mega boasts Sweden’s largest Night Caching event. Fumble After Dark hosted a multitude of activities and opportunities for cachers including, but not limited to, lectures, workshops, guided tours, various caching events, family games, and ceremonies. This year’s event was held in Lerum on Sweden’s west coast, a quaint town just northeast of Gothenburg. Lerum is known for its many lakes and scenic mountain ranges - a perfect location for geocaching!

Cachen im Bratwurstland celebrated geocaching in the middle of Germany, under the theme of our world-famous sausage. The racecourse Gotha-Boxberg provided the backdrop for the evening entertainment.

For 15 years, the TXGA has authored a spring event to pit the regions of Texas against each other in a friendly competition known now as the Texas Challenge. Island Spirit was the second of the WestCan Mega-Event series, highlighting the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. Attendees enjoyed the rich history and culture of the region. Activities included a wide variety of games, social gatherings, entertainment, and of course lots of geocaching.

The Geolympix Mega: Oxford 2012 held its first annual event at Oxford Town Hall in Oxford, UK. The event was originally planned as a small gathering to compliment the 2012 London Olympics, but quickly developed into a Mega-Event. Activities included seminars and competitions, training courses, unique geocaching challenges, kid-friendly activities and raffles.

The Budapest 2012 – Mega Ride & Find was held in Budapest, Hungary. Activities included “meet your reviewer,” tree climbing, kids' entertainment, a photo competition, night swimming, and of course lots of geocaching.

The second Kent Mega-Event was held on the 2nd of May at The Hop Farm. The weekend offered plenty of activities to keep geocachers busy including a CITO Event, a barn dance, canoeing and star-gazing. Our Lab Caches returned this year and proved to be very popular once again!

At the "MEGA am MEER", or "MEGA at the SEA", numerous geocachers joined together to celebrate a joyful weekend at Germany's North Sea coast. The maritime-themed event took place in Bremerhaven on June 20th, 2015. In addition to the main aspect of meeting other geocachers, various activities like Fischbrötchen breakfast, a concert of the geocaching band "Dosenfischer" and harbor sightseeing tours by ship were offered to the attendees.
